In this video, I’m going to show you how I use Descript to make video editing so much less time-consuming. So let’s take a look at this tool called Descript. I’m going to share my screen and now I’m going to upload the recording that Zoom gave me.

Two-day workshop right here. I’m just going to upload that and it’ll take a moment, like a minute, it will create a fantastic transcript of this video, which by itself would be enough to sell me on this program. The transcribing is so much superior to anything else I’ve used, including Otter, if you use Otter AI.

So I love the transcripting, but that’s not at all where it stops. Once we have a transcript here over in the left, we’ll be able to edit that video super quickly just by like double-clicking on certain words that we want to take out. Say, if I say the word, I can just double-click on that and remove it in seconds.

Once I go through the transcript, getting rid of all the extra stuff, maybe I even made some mistakes, I can smooth those out. Then I can go to Studio Sound, click this button over here, and make it also sound like a deeper, richer FM radio voice. And I can use other features.

They have an eye contact one. So if you’re reading your script like this the whole time and you’re not making eye contact, then the promise there is that they will use AI to move it over. When I’ve tested this out, I didn’t really love it.

So I don’t really use that as much. I don’t know if they’ve improved it or if I just needed to get over a certain learning curve. But in the meantime, I just look at the camera when I’m speaking, and then I use these tools of the transcribed edit and the Studio Sound.

Furthermore, I go down here at the end and I use captions to create captions out of this awesome transcript. And then I go down here to draft a YouTube description. As soon as the transcript’s here, this will not be grayed out.

And it will give me a really good description that I can copy and paste when I go here to publish. And publish the video at YouTube. I can also publish the video at many other video distribution tools, including Descript’s own tool.

You can use Descript to host your video and publish it on your website. So we’re almost done transcribing. It’s going through the process here.

It’s got a lot to do with a lot of words in one hour. Okay, so now we have a transcript. We can go over here and look through the transcript for any words that it points out.

Like, see, it has a little blue underline under it. So I can just double click on that and delete it. And it’s removed it.

So if you want to hear what it’s like, I can put the cursor right there, come over here to the play button. And we might have time after for Q&A. And I just really want to hear from you.

You heard that and a. So I can get rid of that a there. And I can get rid of this a here. And go back to this part and play again.

Your hand. We might have time after for Q&A. And I just really want to hear from you as we go.

But let’s just get started. So there too, the but and the and are filler words. So even though they don’t have them underlined, I can go here and get rid of those as well.

We might have time for the Q&A for Q&A. I just really want to hear from you as we go. Let’s just get.

Okay, and now there I noticed a little bit of video jumping. So I’m going to click the undo on that and play it again. Q&A.

And I just really want to hear from you as we go. Let’s just get started. And that second little jump is not too bad.

So I’m going to keep going forward. And there are other ways I can go over here to what they call the Underlord, their AI, and click this edit for clarity just to see these things in a very quick, linear fashion, just to say accept, accept, accept, or no, I want to keep that. While that’s doing it, I could go back up to the very beginning of the transcript and get rid of this beginning part here, which is a bunch of blank space.

So delete that. And then when I click start, I love seeing all these, oops, my cursor was still where I was before. So I’m going to place my cursor here.

Welcome everyone to this awesome tour of the top AI tools. Okay. And I like to call my tours awesome, but let’s see what happens if I do this.

Let’s see. I think it’ll probably be better width, but let’s see if I take that out, if it’s better. Everyone to this tour of the top.

Yeah, there’s a little bit too much of a video jump there. So I’m going to undo that. You’ll see this is grayed out.

We’re going to have so much fun and I’m just welcoming everybody from all over the world. They’re saying get rid of that. So let’s hear what that sounds like without it.

We are going to have fun today. I love seeing all these smiling faces. Ah, good to see you Cuba and Julia.

Awesome. And I think that probably is fun. I love seeing all.

Yeah, why not? So I’m going to hover over that and say, yes, delete it. And that’s one of the options here. So as I go through this edit for clarity, I can play.

Also raise your hand. Let’s just get started. Okay.

So that too is cutting out. We might have some time for Q&A. So let’s go ahead and get rid of that.

It’s not super valuable content. Yes, sometimes I say things that are not super valuable. I’ll admit.

Let’s just get started. Let’s just get started. This is going to feel like.

Okay. And that one, yes, even when it was coming out of my lips, I was like, oh, I’m not sure I really want to say that. I say, and after we got pumped up with some great music, it might feel a little awkward.

So they have part of that cut out and I’m going to go ahead and accept that. But I also want to remove the comment that I said might feel like an abrupt segue. So let’s just go to, let’s get started.

Just get started. Have you ever felt. That’s much better.

So uncertain. It’s going to come to all this information coming at you. Have you felt like maybe just overwhelmed? Like there’s just too many AI tools to choose from.

If that’s you go ahead and put a little one in the chat. Okay. So you get the idea here.

That editing this will be so much faster for me. It’s already half past the hour. It’s been 30 minutes since we’ve done this webinar and I’m going to be able to edit this video and get it out to you super, super quickly.

Maybe even before my 11 o’clock appointment. So I can go through this and I’m just going to quickly process it, but that’s the general idea. I can process them here.

These us, I know I’m going to want to get rid of, or the double words where I say, or, or, or I, I, and I can quickly, I mean, if you have ever done video editing in the past, you know that it’s, this, this is way, way faster than going here to the timeline and finding the right exact moment, using a splice tool, finding the next moment, using another splice tool, and then going from there. And right away, I’m just deleting the ones that I know for sure. I don’t really need because they’re just ums and ahs and repeated words.

And I’m going to go back through it like here, where it’s this one. They’re being threatened. I got that email by, they’re being threatened.

Okay. And that’s it. Yeah.

But I’m responding to the chat. So I’m going to go ahead and not take that one. Cause I like that.

Yeah. And I’m gonna get rid of the, yeah. Um, um, and there are 226 of these, so it will take me some minutes, but again, it’s going to be way faster than if I were to edit the old way.

Let’s see if I can do it. So I’m just going to pause the video and go for it. So in just under a half hour, I have gone through all of the edits.

I can now click studio sound and it’ll automatically make my voice sound a little bit deeper and richer. I can make adjustments if I want to the video. I could zoom in, but in this case, I want to be able to show the picture of us on the side too.

So I’ll leave that as it is. I could put captions, but in this case, I’m just going to avoid that as well, because I’ll just let YouTube offer their own captions. Instead, I’m just going to go here to draft a YouTube description, click submit, and it’s going to take that transcript that we’ve just edited down to what I most want it to be.

And it has this automatic YouTube description. And I’m going to click copy and then go over here to publish. I’m going to click YouTube for me.

I’ll put this video up at YouTube and I’m going to paste all that I copied in, make it a little bit bigger. It has the title up at the top. So I’m going to cut that and put it in the title here.

And I’ll probably make some fine tuning adjustments to this later, but right now it’s ready to go. And yes, this video is about Descript. And it’s also about AI tools, MidJourney, Chat, GPT, Ideogram, Suno, and MapGen.ai. And so those are some of the tools that came to my mind of what we talked about today.

Oh, and it’s about Perplexity, which is now using DeepSeq. Perplexity. And I’m going to make it public.

I’m going to click sign into YouTube. And I’m going to go ahead and sign into the right email account for my YouTube. And now we can publish and we’re in business.

So that’s Descript in a nutshell. In case you want to just do a little extra today, play with Descript, have fun. And now that you know how to do it, go ahead and click on the next video.

The next video is going to be our recording of our awesome first day of our two-day webinar. If you’ve joined me today, I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. If this is all new to you, check the next recording.
